Bentley Advanced Map Finishing has a valuable feature to enable areas to be patterned correctly with cells that contain filled elements. Bentley Advanced Map Finishing also prints elements with a combination of Fill & Outline and Associative Patterning.

To reduce the size of plot files, Bentley Advanced Map Finishing now uses, by default, PostScript level 2 features to print associative patterned areas in MicroStation. Instead of outputting a pattern cell as many times at it appears in an area, the cell details are now saved to the plot file once and PostScript functions are used to pattern the area.

This not only reduces the size of the plot file but also reduces file generation time and processing/printing time on the output device.
